Cindy Sherman

So episode 5 in art 21 is not online yet. check out a preview, a video about a show, words, and pictures.

Kim and Cindy - this can be relevant to your project (the use of makeup there is very interesting). Meghan - the idea of a world of clown in the preview rings a bell? :) You can take it out of the library next to our building.

zombies

So I started drawing Zombies. Here are the frist 2 I have draw. I really enjoy drawing them. Tell me what y'all think.

I think Iwill be able to do some much more with paint.

Paintings

Joel-Peter Witkin

Since Joel-Peter Witkin says he uses unclaimed bodies from a Mexican morgue, I will not coment on the aesthetics of his work due to issues of consent of his subjects. It is interesting to note if he tried to do this in America, he would be jailed, the morgue would pay millions in restitution, and the pictures would be ordered destroyed.

Thanks for Joel Peter Witkn Info.

very interesting "death"

it was very interesting..... in my opnion was not morbid , was done in good taste in fact glassman look so much at peace he looked very much alive. Thanks for sharing...

Joel Peter Witkn

From what I have read, he did use real cadavers as his subjects (both animal and human) it doesn't go into detail of where he got the latest subjects but does say in Mexico is where he started. He is still alive and doing showings too.

here are two links the first of his autobiography the other his work, both sites are "legal" sites.

Still totally confused...

For some reason I still can get the real meaning of it all... even though I've to understand Jean's Baudrillard thoughts and theorys.

Association Project?

Hi all, I put some associations with each picture to start off discussion. How about adding your pictures/associations?
